
| Madeline Lay |
Madeline Lay is creative in most water media, acrylic, watercolor, and egg tempra. She uses paper, canvas or board as a support for her art work. Her subjects are eclectic and realistic. Florida has such an abundance of flora and fauna that something is always beckoning to be immortalized by the artist. Her preferences seem to be both flowers and the local landscape. Her travels abroad and in U.S. have added extra dimension to her subject matter. Madeline is a member of the Lakeland Art Guild, Arts on the Park, the Ridge Art Gallery, the Florida Watercolor Society and the Imperial Art Gallery. Her art training has been at Florida Southern College, the University of South Florida, the Richard Wilson Art Center in Wales, and the Gessford Studio in Lakeland. She has been awarded numerous prizes and ribbons in exhibitions. Her work was in an exhibit in Limoux, France while she was painting there. Some pieces can be seen at le Monastre in Limoux, France. Her work can be seen at her home and studio in Tampa, Florida, 3501 Bayshore Blvd.,33629. Frequently, it is also in exhibits at Ridge Art Gallery, Winter Haven, Fl, Melvin Gallery, Arts on the Park Gallery, and the New Terrace Hotel in Lakeland. She does commission painting.
